Install the Common Things Web App

Common Things can be installed from a supported browser and used like a regular application. It can open in its own window and may be added to your desktop, Start menu, Home Screen, app launcher or Dock.

Installation is optional. Common Things can also be used directly from a supported browser.

What installing actually changes

  • An app icon and its own window, without the browser address bar.
  • The same account, the same workbook and the same data — installing doesn't move anything.
  • Expenses you add without a connection are held on the device and sync to your Google Sheet when you're back online. Signing in and anything that reads your Sheet still needs a connection.
  • When a new version is available you'll be offered it — nothing reloads while you're part-way through entering something.

The Web App is a browser-based application, not a native app. If your browser doesn't support installation, everything still works — you just open Common Things the way you would any other site.
